Helen McGuire's Story

Helen McGuire's Story
Having lived a full and vibrant life, Helen Mary Margaret McGuire was most remembered for her ability to teach and inspire others. She traveled the world and received numerous awards and recognitions for her outstanding teaching abilities.

She and her husband, George (Mac), spent nearly 30 years living abroad, teaching in places such as England, Germany, Japan and Spain. It was through these life experiences that she was able to give her students insight about people from all corners of the world. She inspired their young minds to "be a little more tolerant and to create a better world for tomorrow."

At the age of 89, Helen passed away, leaving a bequest to benefit Avera Prince of Peace. Their "family" was truly worldwide according to their niece, Mary Avair. "Aunt Helen and Uncle Mac touched and enriched many lives with their love and generosity," she recalls.
